Anti-Reflux measures
-
Avoid eating 4 hours before bed time
-
No drinking, even water, 2 hours before bed time

Go for a 30 minute walk after last meal (dinner)

Avoid sports after eating, by at least 4 hours

Raise the head of bed (sleeping with few pillows) or put raise the foot of the bed’s head
-
Avoid spicy food
-
Avoid acidic drinks (e.g. orange/lemon juice, vinegar)
-
Avoid tea or coffee after midday, or switch to decaffeinated tea or coffee
-
Reduce smoking
-
Esomeprazole 20-40mg twice daily
-
Gaviscon, 10ml three times daily (before breakfast, before lunch and at bedtime
